Wiig Hansen + Pedersen Office is based in Copenhagen and is being operated by the two partners Designer Nicholai Wiig Hansen and M.Sc.(branding) Lars C. Pedersen.
The clients are worldwide operators and national leaders within their individual fields. They are very diverse but united in a belief that a design driven approach is an essential part in order to differentiate from their competitors.
Our core competence is strategic and visionary product design. We love to expand the horizon of brands and their interpretation and understanding of themselves. To stretch the product portfolio of a brand into new areas and make them stronger in exiting categories is what we do.
Our passion is interior, home accessories, furniture, lightning and packaging and our product design can be divided into four categories which of course overlaps each other.
The appropriate, clean, timeless product, made without looking at trends. Straight forward, yet with a glimps of emotion and humanity. Products which gives meaning to everyday life and where the importance of proportions make the harmonic and beautiful designs. Our recent example is One Table made for Normann Copenhagen.
The free, artistic and experimental design is fundamental for our office, due to the manner and background of Nicholai Wiig Hansen,. The stirring work when art meets design, made without compromise and where human touch and workmanship, is inspiring for us. Functionality, functionality, Functionality. We love it. Love to think how purpose and usability should go hand in hand. To imagine how a product is used to make life as easy as possible for the user. Check our Field Cup Set made for Primus which is a good example of functionality wrapped in a beautiful shape.
We desire 'packaging' and its challenges. To make an appealing, easy-to-decode wrap in a business where the human buying-behaviour is processed within a minute. It is fascinating to imagine the performance of a package when it is lined up next to all its competitors. This area of design have so many restrictions and requirements to take into consideration which makes it even more challenging.
Lastly our ideas does not stop where the product generation stops. To give suggestions how to incorporate the product or concept into the brand strategy and its marketing mix, in order to sustain and create deep costumer relationships, is natural for us.
